Network Marketing Tip - Defeat the Big Bad Wolf, Be the Third Little Pig!

So... What is the desired result of every Network Marketing Tip? Well, we both know that it is to generate more quality leads and make more money - Right?

But, how do you make that happen?

By now you have become a member of a Network Marketing business and you attended your first corporate meeting, got really excited, and you went back to your house and started making your list of family and friends. You are going to your company's old school marketing training and you're leaving your business cards all over the place, you talk to to people in line at the local bagel shop and even try to get your kids swimming coach to join this amazing opportunity you've found.

Network Marketing Tip - Defeat the Big Bad Wolf, Be the Third Little Pig!

And for some unknown reason, you've worked through your 'warm' leads and all you see at the bottom of your pockets is blue fuzz and no green dollars!

So have you seriously considered just what you are selling? Seriously?

And you say, "Bruce, we have 25 different juices and vitamins - those are what I am selling."

But let's just step back and think about that for a minute. Of course you have numerous product that you are selling, but really, is that what ? Think about what your prospect is buying. Think about when you first got started in your opportunity - what was the main factor in your final decision?

This brings me to the story of the Three Little Pigs:

As the tale is told the First Little Pig built his home from straw. He had just joined Piglet Berry MLM and he was sharing their products with everyone from his home. He was giving it all he had, but at day's end when the Big Bad Wolf came knocking...

"Knock, knock" and "POOF"!

All it took was a ferocious blow from the wolf to crumble his home.

Then, that same day, his MLM called him and they went out of business with no warning! He quickly realized that promoting their products initially was exactly like him living in a straw house and as quickly as they were out of business, he was out of business too - immediately. He realized quickly that he had no control over his future and ran to his second brother's home.

The Second Little Pig see's his first brother coming, opens the door and quickly welcomes him into his home made of sticks. Now inside and feeling secure, the Second Little Pig decides to share his new MLM opportunity with his first brother. He lets him know how great it is and all about the vacations he is going to go on and about all of the endless buffets that will be at their conferences and oh what fun it will be.

He goes to the closet and brings out his stand and white board and shows him exactly how he is going to find financial wealth quickly by sponsoring all the other piglets he works with. The second brother is trying so vigorously to sell his first brother on the "Dream", but he's not buying it. Knowing that it's all fast talk and after living in a home of straw, he's a little weary of all the smoke and mirrors of this "Dream" his brother's selling him. (Sounds like the builder who sold him his house of straw!) The Second Little Pig realizes it might be simpler to sell sand to an armadillo than to sell little pigs on the "Dream" and quits his MLM.

Then... "Knock, knock"

"POOOOF", It's the Big Bad Wolf again and down goes the house of sticks. And the first two brothers run to Third Little Pig's house !

As they arrive at their brother's home made of bricks, they perceive how well it is constructed. The effort and time that went into it's construction and foundation. Their brother meets them as he's just about to get on his laptop and attend a webinar training with some of his other network marketing team members. The first two brothers just sit in amazement at what they are hearing - No Sales Pitch At All! Well no sales pitch about their brother's MLM. He's just answering people's questions and helping them with advice.

Then... "Knock, knock"

"POOOOOOF", "POOOOF", "Pooof", "Puh..." Hah!! The Big Bad Wolf has met his match and leaves in frustration, because the foundation and house of bricks are too much for him! The Third Little Pig has defeated the wolf and never ever got up out of his chair!

Undisturbed inside the house of bricks...

The Third Little Pig's training ends and the three brothers are sitting around having a snack when the phone rings... "Hi, Third Little Pig, would you please tell me about that attraction marketing you were discussing earlier and by the way... what is you business anyway? You were so helpful in answering our questions tonight, but you never even mentioned what company you are in and how you do it." The first two brothers are awe-struck! As soon as the Third Little Pig is off the phone, the others say "We never have anyone call us! We cold call all day long and never talk to anyone who want to talk with us - it's awful and it doesn't work!"

Then the Third Little Pig shares his secret with them. He says "Here is the ultimate Network Marketing Tip for you that will change your results for all eternity and put you in a position of personal power and release you from the constraints of any MLM company that you join".

The first two brothers interrupt How can we do that?"

Then the Third Little Pig replies to his brothers "Aha, you are starting to get it. I am selling ME first, not my company, not any products and not any crazy dreams. Pigs like pigs they get along with and can relate to. They like pigs who are helpful and teach them how to be successful versus attempting to sell them something like a used car dealer. And here is the best part! You too can do this just like me and have success beyond your craziest imagination, if you just give value to other pigs first, build relationships and help other pigs create their success - You too, will find your success."

The End

A few parting thoughts: If you are still struggling in your network marketing company, most likely it is due to one of the following two reasons:

1. You flat out don't have enough quality leads to talk to. (This problem is solved by first mastering your marketing skills and having a system in place to attract quality leads.)

2. You just aren't calling back your leads. (Because it all seems like cold calling and that just stinks - even the toughest marketer will wear out in time. Lead with the value you provide first and people will naturally be attracted to you.)

Network Marketing Tip: By being yourself, leading with value and promoting you first, you will attract quality leads and you're going want to call them back. So if your current marketing system makes you feel like you're always cold calling, then I'd say it's time you found yourself a new system for marketing!

Social Networking: Positive and Negative Aspects

Social Media and Social Networking sites are taking the internet by storm. Social media serves as a great platform to interact with friends, relatives or make new friends and meet new people online. Social Media sites are technologically advanced web interfaces offering content-exchange via short-messaging services, email or chat. In spite of its growing popularity, social media faces threats of hacking.

Although people find social media essential for retaining ties, it poses threat of vulnerabilities. Since social media consists of personal information, the users must be extremely careful while providing confidential information to these sites. Though some famous social networking sites, such as, Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Google and Orkut, etc are extremely popular, they too face the threats to its users who are oblivious to safe internet practices. It is better not to give out passwords very easily, too much information sharing can often be counter-productive. It is advisable not to reveal your future travel plans on a social media site, your profile viewer with malicious intentions may plan to commit burglary in your apartment!

Networking

Therefore, privacy concerns must be of primary importance in networking. It is true that social networking provides an opportunity to develop inter-personal relationship, one need to be aware of the possible security threats. Especially, students often post detailed and specific information, on Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, etc, they can be more easily traced by strangers and even acquaintances!

Social Networking: Positive and Negative Aspects

Often they violate the school policy or the code of conduct by posting inappropriate pictures or information on their social networking profiles, so they are held accountable when the school administrators further investigate the matter. Moreover, other disadvantage is that students are often turned down job offers because of their information employers are finding out about students on their social networking sites! The employers take these images the students portray on these sites very seriously because it depicts the reflection of personal character!

Well, keeping aside the dangers of socializing on the net, it can be a good way to communicate with friends and relative, also to make connection to people with similar tastes, interests and goals! Thanks to social networking sites, because often meeting people personally has become the thing of the past. Thus, staying connected with classmates and colleagues is a major benefit of social networking sites!

It helps to stay connected with different cultural program, events listing and other information related to campus culture. What a great way to stay understand and stay connected to your campus community as a whole! Most importantly, these sites offer students the opportunity to create a positive self image.

Last but not the least, if you want to stay safe on the net, evaluate your profile account and postings frequently.Do not post your personal information, address or cell number. You can utilize and adjust your privacy settings so as to control who has the access to your personal information.

As it is said, everything has both bright and dark sides, we should be careful in using social networking sites constructively rather than destructively! So, enjoy, happy networking!

9 Tips For Speed Networking

Have you ever been to a speed dating event? If you have you'll understand the concept of speed networking.

At a speed dating event you get to meet an awful lot of people in a very short space of time and the idea is that first impressions count, if you hit it off with someone and feel that you have things in common then you can meet up again later and take more time to build a relationship.

Networking

Speed networking is the business equivalent in that you a given a set period of time (2 or 3 minutes for example) to make initial contact with other business people. Just enough time to exchange basic information about your business and the service that you offer as opposed to an in depth discussion

9 Tips For Speed Networking

The positive points about speed networking are that you get the opportunity to meet and exchange business cards with a relatively large number of other business people and at the same the time limit forces you to move on and eliminate the possibility of being stuck talking to the same person for a whole event.

For me, there must also be an informal networking session at the end of the event where you can take time to meet again with other people that you felt you were building a rapport with. In this way you can start the relationship building process rather than it just having finished with the exchange of a business card.

In these types of event it's vital to have mastered the art of effective use of business cards. When you finish a session you may well have a pile of cards and find it difficult to be able to put a face to the card at a later date. This is one reason why my business networking tips below are essential to making the most of speed networking and speed dating alike.

1. Before you decide to attend speed business networking events take time to understand the format. Is it all speed networking or is there free networking time too? If you understand the format you'll go better prepared and make more of the event.

2. Part of the above is about understanding how much time you have with every other person. If it's short then you really need to have a well practiced and fine tuned sixty seconds presentation. If you've got a bit longer you can maybe afford to go a little more in depth.

3. You may be required to follow a set agenda in your meetings such as your name, your business sector etc etc. Knowing this in advance will help you practice the right subject matter prior to the event.

4. Speed networking when there is a fixed agenda is a very comfortable way to meet new people so take time to identify those people that you don't already know.

5. Don't be in too much of a hurry to give your pitch, let the other person talk first, in this way if there are any "common areas" that you want to exploit, you can then adapt your pitch to suit.

6. Make good use of business cards. When you exchange cards take time to read aloud what is on the other person's card. The other person will see this as interest on your part but most importantly it will help you remember the face and the name at a later date. You can also use the business card to make notes. This is an important point when designing your own cards - make sure that the background is a light colour so that anyone can make notes on your card.

7. Considering point 6 - don't forget your business cards and a pen!

8. Don't loose time searching through business cards to find your own. Make sure that you have a place for those that you have collected and for your own. I use two separate pockets in my jacket or coat.

9. Finally, if you feel you have something more to say to someone and that there could be a synergy - make it clear! Now is not the time for polite conversation, be direct and let them know that you would like to have a further meeting and propose a date and time.

Wireless Networking - Router Vs Access Point

While planning for your wireless network you might be asking what is the difference between a router and an access point. You need to think of a router as more of a server because it performs many functions like a server. An access point only provides a portal for wireless client to connect to your existing LAN.

Routers can perform many functions. Routers can connect many different WLANs together acting like a traffic cop. Routers also act as a DHCP server. A DHCP server assigns dynamic IP address to your computer every time your computer starts up. If you don't have a DHCP server then you will have to assign each computer on your network a permanent IP address.

Networking

As I have said before your router can also act like a traffic cop. You can use a router to perform port forwarding to certain computers on your LAN. For example you can direct all internet traffic looking for your game server's port number to a specific computer on your LAN.

Wireless Networking - Router Vs Access Point

The ability to connect multiple computers to the internet is one of the main features of a router. The router is assigned one WAN IP address from your ISP. This IP address is called a public IP address that everyone on the internet can see. Because you have multiple computers connected to your router the router uses a protocol called NAT Network address translation NAT will assign the computers that are behind your routers IP address, private IP addresses. NAT acts as a firewall because computers on the internet cannot in theory even see your computers. They will only see the IP address of your router. NAT does block traffic from reaching your computers but it will not block Trojans from going out to the internet. That is why I do recommend installing a firewall on your LAN computers.

The role of an access point on a LAN is to give the wireless user a door way to enter. The more people that enter the door at the same time the slower they will go. 802.11b access points say they will give you a through put rate of 11mps but the actual rate is around 5MPS. 802.11g has a rating of 54mbps with an actual through put of 20mbps. The access points do have most of the same security features as a router such as WEP, WPA, 8021x and TKPI but they will not have the traffic cop functions like a router. Also the access points will not have NAT which would add an unnecessary layer to your network. To keep it simple access points just simulate plugging in your laptop to a port in the wall and that's it.A router is used on the border of you network to act as a traffic cop deciding who can come in and blocking those you want to keep out.

What Are the Effects of Social Networking Websites?

"Words can't describe me", is how Adnan Patrawala, 16 yr old teenager from Mumbai, India had described himself on his Orkut profile. However, his kidnappers and murderers got to know a little more of him and ensnared him into a trap which ultimately led to the death of the young boy. This is perhaps an extreme example of the social impact of these social networking sites such as Orkut, Facebook, MySpace and Friendster on today's youth. But there is no denying its presence or its effects in our lives and minds today.

Often these days when we make new friends we do not ask, "What's your number?" Or "What's your email id?" Instead we ask, "What's your MySpace"? or "Are you on Orkut?" Such is the impact of these sites on our lives .The way we speak, the way we interact and the way we think is changing. Words such as scrapping, blogging, teasers---which a few years back wouldn't have made any sense to anybody; but today it's being used with so much spontaneity.

Networking

As a matter of fact, Google even has links to sites, which gives the world's most popular acronyms. It is amusing but that is the way it is.

What Are the Effects of Social Networking Websites?

However, these sites fulfill a very basic criterion of humans. It is that of communication. People living in extreme corners of the world are seen to be getting married, friends from far-off places are able to keep in touch with each other and lovers from two parts of the world stay connected with each other's emotional needs. These help us make new friends, stay in touch with the old ones and let us know more about the persons we care... their likes, dislikes, interests and emotions.

There is an element of addictiveness in these sites and the youth are indeed getting endeared more and more into this addiction. The most appealing thing among these sites is that they provide a platform for the individuals to express their views, gives them the freedom of choice and expression... from anti-war campaigns to global warming issues, from Harry potter fan clubs to Osama bin Laden hate clubs... there is everything for everyone to share and speak about.

What else could be more appealing than the thought of being heard not just by your group of friends but to the whole wide world. And that is where I feel these sites are here to stay. It just emphasizes the fact that man is a social being and shall always remain so.

How to Make a Proper Introduction

Have you ever questioned your introduction skills? If not, you should since making a proper introduction is a form of business etiquette and sets the tone for how others will perceive you. Learning proper introductions not only enhances your business savvy but boosts your self-confidence.

Four years ago, I was meeting with my boss, awaiting our guest. As our guest arrived, I escorted her to meet the boss. I'm an astute business professional who has worked with U.S. Senators, dignitaries, and CEOs; however, at this moment of introduction, all confidence flew out the window. They were both VIPs in the world of business so who do I introduce first: man or woman, boss or guest, older or younger, tall or short?

Networking

Honestly, it was all a glaze as I failed to make a proper introduction while feeling like a dried up raisin in the sun. At that moment, I vowed to improve my business savvy and learn how to make a proper introduction to exude competency and confidence. Making a proper introduction demonstrates your level of acumen and respect for others.

How to Make a Proper Introduction

Like the old adage goes, "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression," which includes making a proper introduction. When you lose your self-confidence, it's conveyed in your posture, facial expressions, intonation, attitude, and demeanor, so even if people never tell you, which they won't, they recognize your mistakes and lack of confidence.

To avoid feeling socially awkward and to present a poised, polished, and professional image upon meeting and making introductions, here are eight guidelines to follow:

Introduce people in business based on rank, not gender or age.In business, the client, guest or visitor outranks the boss or co-worker and should be introduced first.Women and men should stand when introduced. Always smile and maintain eye contact.Shake a woman and man's hand the same, straight up and down. Extend a good, firm (not painful) handshake to exhibit respect, trust, and acceptance.Keep the forms of address equal to avoid differential treatment or the appearance of preferential treatment.Never use an honorific such as Ms., Mr., or Dr. to introduce yourself.Demonstrate professionalism and credibility by clearly stating your full name.Do not call a person by his or her first name when meeting or being introduced for the first time. Use their title and last name until invited to be on a first-name basis.

Maintaining a competitive edge in the business world differentiates you from the competition. The most important advice I can give you is to keep learning and enhancing your business and social skills to boost your success with etiquette.
